Inglemoor High School Baseball Boosters Scholarship
The Inglemoor High School Baseball Boosters will award a $1,000 Educational Scholarship at the conclusion of the high school baseball season. The scholarship will be awarded annually to the Inglemoor High School senior varsity baseball player who best exemplifies the core program pillars as decided by the award committee.
Criteria:
Players interested in applying for the scholarship are required to submit an essay to the Inglemoor High School Baseball Booster Club that explains to the committee how they exhibit the characteristics of the Inglemoor High School baseball program: Attitude, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect, Effort, and Coachability.
Only senior varsity players will be considered for the scholarship. Players are only eligible to receive the scholarship once. Eligible candidates must be on track to graduate.
The successful scholarship recipient must prove funds will be going for post-high school educational purposes. Education purposes include, but are not limited to, four-year colleges or universities, junior/community colleges, trade schools or training programs.
Committee:
The committee to select the recipient for the award will include the Varsity Head Coach (or their coaching staff designate), Booster Club President (or their Booster Club Board designate), and an independent community member (agreed upon by majority vote of the Booster Club Board). No person who has a player eligible for the scholarship shall serve on the award committee.
The Booster Club Board will identify the scholarship application due date. The Booster Club President (or their Booster Club Board designate) will contact Senior Varsity Baseball players with details of the scholarship along with the application due date (as defined by the Booster Club Board).
For the purposes of this scholarship, the Baseball Boosters Club shall consist of the any current Booster Club member that has 1) been assigned a Booster Club title (aka President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Fundraising Chair, Communications Director) and 2) has attended more than 50% of board meetings during the baseball season (defined as the first planning meeting of the upcoming season through the final meeting of the completed baseball season). While ineligible board members may not be eligible to serve on the award committee, they may fully participate in discussions and votes for the independent community member if they meet the criteria above.
Funding:
The scholarship is to be funded by the Inglemoor Baseball Boosters Club through the hosting of an annual Inglemoor High School charity baseball game, charitable contributions, and miscellaneous fundraisers identified by the Booster Club Board.
Funds to be held in a dedicated bank account and administered by the IHS Baseball Booster Club. Funds will be distributed directly to the scholarship recipient’s educational institution.
Scholarship Announcement:
The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Inglemoor High School Baseball End of Season Banquet of each year.
